€10,000 reward offered in hunt for hit-and-run driver

A FRESH appeal for information about a fatal hit-and-run incident was issued yesterday.

Crimestoppers offered a reward of up to €10,000 for details that might help the gardai track down the driver of the blue car involved in the incident.

Victim Edward Lynch was walking on his own at Claddagh Road, at the junction with Claddagh Green in Ballyfermot, Dublin, around 8pm on February 22 last year when he was hit. He subsequently died from his injuries.

Investigating officer Det Insp Peter O'Boyle said last night: "This was a very serious and tragic incident and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed it to come forward."

He added: "If you have any information, please contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 1800 250025."
