100 leads in missing woman case

Eoghan MacConnell

GARDAI are pursuing more than 100 lines of inquiry in relation to the disappearance of a woman. Officers have confirmed that there has been no activity on Marie Greene's bank account or mobile phone.

Ms Greene (37) was last seen at her home in St Mel's Terrace in Athlone, Co Westmeath, on Sunday night.

Gardai are conducting door-to-door inquiries, checking phone records and viewing CCTV footage in a bid to locate the missing woman.

Supt Aidan Glacken said recent media appeals "have provided us with new avenues to pursue. We have sightings, they have yet to be confirmed."

When last seen, she was wearing a pair of jeans, white runners and a navy zipped fleece. She is 5ft 5in in height, slim and has medium-length brown hair, which is normally tied in a ponytail.

Anyone with information can contact Athlone gardai at 090-6498550 or the garda confidential line at 1800 666 111.
