INSIDER Wednesday with Vicki Notaro
There's only one thing on everyone's mind this weekend, and that's Electric Picnic.
The 11th year of the festival kicks off on Friday in Stradbally, and this week's edition of INSIDER is an EP special.
We have an interview with headliner and Blondie front-woman Debbie Harry, Nialler 9 speaks to some of the Irish acts playing the festival (and finds out their favourite memories of festivals past) and he also works out the best things to do on site across the weekend.
My favourite part of our coverage though, is the feature where we meet the talented people who put Electric Picnic together, from the guy who owns the land, to the promo people who make sure you know all about it, and those who look after Mindfield, Casa Bacardi and Theatre of Food, keeping you fed and er, watered throughout. PLUS, Bonnie Tyler takes the INSIDER Interrogation before she takes to the Electric Ireland Power House stage.
It's a particularly crazy week for me, as I'm just back from Brooklyn (where I was working on an upcoming feature, keep your eyes peeled). NYC is like my spirtitual home, so while I'm feeling a little sad to be back, EP of course has the answer with Heineken's Sound Atlas area, a Brooklyn themed wonderland of music and beer! Check the video below, if you want to find me this weekend, I'll be there.
Oh and if you're not going to EP, there is tons more in this week's mag besides festival themed stuf - no need for FOMO heref.
We list the best "cursed" movies of all time, make veggie-tastic cakes with Forkful, speak to Aaron Paul about his new Netflix show streaming now, and look at the explosion of luxury hostels across Europe - not an oxymoron, and not just for students interrailing!
So don't miss tomorrow's paper, and keep a eye on
