Kilkenny stands out to me as a community that likes to share their enthusiasm. I’ve been following the activities of Bia Beag, a blog that focuses on small food businesses run by Keith Bohanna, which has been running of a series of events to celebrate food entrepreneurs over the last few years.
This Saturday the 20th of September, Bia Beag welcomes you to Meet The Roasters in Kilkenny. Three of Ireland’s leading coffee roasters will be convening in the beautiful venue of Highbank Organic Orchard in Cuffesgrange, Kilkenny.
Brock Lewin of Badger and Dodo, Jennifer Ryan of Ponaire and Ferg Brown of Roasted Brown will gather at Highbank Organic Orchard at 8pm to chat through the details of roasting coffee over a two hour session. There will be plenty of tasting opportunities and you’ll get a chance to ask them all the questions you might have about how to roast a coffee bean.
You’ll also get a chance to pick up a bottle or two of Highbank Organic Orchard’s delicious non-alcoholic Driver’s Cider and the other brilliant apple-based goodies produced on this organic farm.
Tickets are €8 per coffee fan. You can find out more about the event, the venue and how to book tickets at http://biabeag.com/.
