Insider Beauty Tuesday: Face Forward

Close

Everyone wants something different out of their experience, but it makes sense that if you want better looking skin, you choose a treatment that can deliver the goods.

Here's the science bit, after two years of research and development, Elemis have come up with the latest in spa-delivered skincare treatment in the shape of the Biotec system.

A unique synergy of three targeted stimuli; actives, technology and touch. To you and me that's the ingredients used in the products, the fancy machinery and the therapists' hands.  They believe that these three combined can deliver immediate, visible and long-lasting results.

During any traditional (or old-school) facial, my mind inevitably wanders and I think, "hold on, is this not just a cleanse, tone and moisturise routine with the odd mask and exfoliation thrown in? Could I not do this myself at home?".  So, when I tried out the Elemis Biotec and the therapist spent more than the usual measly ten seconds doing a "consultation", I really felt like there was an understanding of my skin and what I wanted to achieve from the treatment.  A crucial stage to ensure the right mix of products and technology are used.

Seven customisable facials target specific skin needs such as ageing, dullness, textured skin and dehydration with clinically proven results.

Facials across the board are becoming much more hi tech and the market is really competing now to bring the latest innovations.  I, for one, am really pleased with the progress and I'd like to see it continue.  This guy bridges the gap between a regular hands on facial and cosmetic non-invasive procedures, so from a price point, risk and down time perspective, it's a real winner.

The hour long treatment at The Spa at The Shelbourne costs €140, click here for more details.
