Six civilians have been wounded in the suicide bomber attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.

A suicide car bomber has struck a foreign military convoy in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

The explosion wounded six civilians, police said.

The attack occurred about a kilometre (half mile) from Camp Phoenix, a Nato base. The international force, ISAF, said it was investigating and had no information on casualties.

Television images showed remains of the exploded car littering a street, and several armoured vehicles stopped nearby.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said the insurgent group was behind the attack.
