WORKING on location usually means long stints away from home but Hollywood actor Jack Reynor is close to home as filming for his latest film got underway ... on Dollymount Strand.

The Transformers star is fast becoming the toast of Tinseltown but the Wicklow star is back home for now with a role in Jim Sheridan's The Secret Scripture.

Despite the freezing temperatures, Reynor and his co-star Rooney Mara were forced to shoot in the rushes at the famous Dublin beach.

It seems that The Social Network actress was not used to working outdoors in the Irish winter and was spotted on-set with a hot water bottle to warm herself up.

The Irish Film Board-backed movie is based on the 2008 bestseller penned by Sebastian Barry.

It will tell the story of a 100-year-old Irishwoman who decides to write her autobiography from a Co Roscommon mental hospital.

The novel traces her troubled 50-year stay in the hospital. It picked up numerous prestigious awards when it was released before being picked up to be adapted for the silver screen.

Love/Hate actor Tom Vaughan Lawlor is also set to join the cast of Sheridan's latest project.

It is his first foray into a big-budget film since his role as kingpin Nidge in the RTE crime drama where he gained a legion of fans.

Shooting for The Secret Scripture is also due to take place on location in various places around the country including Sligo and Wicklow.

Timing

Having work so close to home might just be perfect timing for the young Irish actor who made a name for himself with a starring role in the Irish film What Richard Did.

Reynor announced his engagement to model and DJ Madeline Mulqueen last year and it is believed that the young couple will tie the knot this summer.

If the pair are eyeing an intimate wedding bash on home soil, Reynor will at the very least be on-hand to help out with the planning.
