Irish film 'The Stag' grosses €465k at Irish box office
Irish film is set to become the most successful home-grown film in three years.
The Stag - which chronicles six men heading off to rural Ireland for one last hurrah - had grossed €465,000 at the Irish box office by Friday.
And it is expected to make more than €500,000 by tonight.
This will see the film beating The Hardy Bucks Movie, the most successful Irish film of last year.
Characters Fionnan (Hugh O'Conor) and Ruth (Amy Huberman) are getting hitched.
Foppish Fionnan has no intention of going on something as crude as a stag weekend, and is more interested in overseeing the flower-arranging for the wedding.
Ruth, however, wants him out from under her feet and she instructs best pal Davin (Andrew Scott) to organise for Fionnan and his yuppy pals to experience the "wilds" of Co Wicklow.
The Stag was released one month ago and held fourth position in the Irish film charts last weekend.
