Bride and joy for Fair City's Orlaith
AS a blushing bride, she was almost unrecognisable from her previous role.
'Fair City' star Orlaith Rafter tied the knot yesterday in a ceremony in central Dublin.
Ms Rafter lit up the small screen as mechanic Robin Doyle on the Carrigstown soap but took a year off from the RTE show last year to do a theatre-writing course.
And yesterday, Ms Rafter walked up the aisle of the University Church in St Stephen's Green wearing a Synan O'Mahony ivory, silk-satin and beaded French lace dress, and silk brocade coat as she married Mick Quinlan, who works in IT.
Ms Rafter arrived half an hour late in a 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider called 'Gina', driven by her best friend Deirdre Walsh.
Her uncle Frank Slattery from the US walked her up the aisle, as about 80 guests looked on.
After the cermony, Fair City actor Pat Nolan arrived to wish Ms Rafter the best, before husband Mick drove his new wife to the reception in the Alfa.
The reception took place at the Shelbourne Hotel, where guests include TV3's Sybil Mulcahy and her husband, actors Una Kavanagh, Niamh Shaw and Eamonn Owens of 'The Butcher Boy' and Sile Seoige.
