Television viewers have joked that they want to move to Coronation Street after troubled Craig Tinker managed to get a doctor’s appointment on the day he called.

Teenager Craig (Colson Smith) decided to pay a visit to his GP to deal with his obsessive compulsive disorder.

Fans of the ITV soap were stunned when the doctor fitted Craig in that day, and many took to social media to ask why there is no NHS crisis in Weatherfield.

One person said on Twitter: “Seriously, I’m switching doctors if this is how quick it is to get an appointment at the medical centre.”

“I’m moving to Coronation Street no way can you see a doctor that quick,” said another.

One person wondered: “How did Craig get same day doctors appointment without calling non-stop from 8.30am? This is definitely not based on real life.”

“How did Craig get a doctors appointment that quickly? Seems Weatherfield hasn’t been bothered by the NHS crisis,” tweeted another.

The doctor drama was a welcome break from the tense plot with villain Phelan.

The evil killer was thought to have fallen to his death in dramatic scenes on Good Friday, but on Monday it was revealed that he was still alive and hiding out.

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
