Van Morrison is to support crooner Michael Buble at a headline performance in Hyde Park this summer.

The veteran singer-songwriter, who was knighted as Sir Ivan Morrison in 2016, joins Buble on July 13 as part of the British Summer Time festival.

The Brown Eyed Girl singer will take to the stage before Buble alongside reformed eighties pop group Bananarama, indie rockers The Feeling and country duo The Shires.

Buble’s headline slot at the festival marks his return to performing following a career break while his son battled cancer.

He and actress wife Luisana Lopilato announced their eldest son Noah, then three, had been diagnosed with cancer in November 2016.

The entertainer joins fellow headliners Roger Waters, Bruno Mars, The Cure, Eric Clapton and Paul Simon in the BST festival series at Hyde Park across July.

Bananarama’s Siobhan Fahey said: “British Summer Time at Hyde Park has become such an important part of the year. To be included in this year’s line-up alongside so many wonderful acts is just joyous.”
