Two more series of popular 'Serial' podcast in the pipeline
Two more seasons of the hugely popular, award-winning Serial podcast are in the pipeline.
The podcast explored the story of a Baltimore murder case but the content of the two new seasons have yet to be revealed.
Producers are apparently lining up season two for the autumn and season three for spring, “We are hard at work reporting not one, but two distinct new stories."
The first podcast saw Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder investigating the true-crime case of Adnan Syed, a young man imprisoned for life for killing an ex-girlfriend.
Hae Min Lee was strangled in 1999 but Syed has always maintained his innocence and he was granted a request for review by Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals after their analysis of the evidence against him.
The original podcast caused a storm when it was released last year by public radio station WBEZ Chicago and it became the fastest ever to reach 5 million downloads.
