Why the fab four loved good ol' freda
Good Ol' Freda: The Beatles' Secretary (More 4) concerned Liverpudlian Freda Kelly, who worked for Brian Epstein from the age of 17 and later was in charge of the Fab Four's fan club and its monthly newsletter.
At almost two hours, this profile of the now 68-year-old was at least an hour too long, but her devotion to the band was lovingly caught and there was a touching coda over the end titles when Ringo Starr paid affectionate tribute to her.
"We all loved Freda, she was great, she was just one of the best," he said.
And the film itself captured the mood of a vanished time when working in the pop industry seemed to be quite fun. Oh, let it be.
