What a chancer: Man interrupts TV3 broadcast with banner - advertising his business
IT'S always a risk for reporters to do a live link from Leinster House - however it wasn't protesters who interrupted a TV3 broadcast this evening.
One resourceful entrepreneur took the opportunity to get a bit of free publicity for his business.
TV3's political correspondent Ursula Halligan regularly reports live from just outside Leinster House for the 5.30 news.
Since the garda controversy broke she has been doing a live link from her usual spot on most evening's bulletin - and one budding businessman decided to bring a sign for his company to Leinster House in the hope she would be there again.
His luck was in - and as the journalist did her live link to studio he proceeded to parade around in the background with his sign.
The camera zoomed in on Hannigan's face, in an attempt to block out the free on-air advertisement.
However the plucky screen invader would not be deterred - and continued to promote his business just out of shot.
He was attempting to advertise his roller blind cleaning business - and succeeded in getting his brand promoted for free to the thousands of viewers tuning into the 5.30 news.
