Ella McSweeney (right) explores the fate of abandoned horses and donkeys, and is shocked at the neglect and cruelty the animals frequently endure. And Darragh McCullough gets a bird's eye view of six enormous silage harvesters.

Fifty years ago, mental illness was a social taboo and patients were locked away in grim institutions. Things have changed, though. This episode finds out how 10 times more mental patients are now cared for in their homes than in hospitals.

As the drama set in a hospital in 1961 concludes, Otto (Jack Davenport, right) and Mulligan come face to face, Elizabeth confesses what's been going on, and Angela's past catches up with her. Shaun Dingwall, Zoe Boyle and Joanna Page star.
