Tom Jones and Jesse J quit the Voice panel after one series
BBC’S version of the Voice suffered a major blow to its second series today after it was reported both Tom Jones and Jesse J would not be returning to the ailing talent show for a second series.
Jesse J is believed to have quite the show as the filming dates for the new series would clash with the singer’s new UK tour, according to the Daily Mail.
However insiders say producers weren’t happy with the ‘domino’ singer’s behaviour during the first run of the show – she refused to do publicity for the show and even told chat show host Graham Norton during an appearance that she didn’t even bother to watch the show back.
The first series’ winning mentor, legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones, is also believed the have decided not to return to the panel.
He had initially been considering returning to the show, however is believed to have changed his mind after his manager advised him against rejoining.
BBC producers are now said to be holding crisis talks to try and turn the struggling show’s fortunes around. The series started to huge ratings for the station; however numbers collapsed during the run of the series – from highs of 12.5m to a low of just 5.1m.
