Simon Cowell tells X Factor judges – ‘Get rid of Christopher Maloney’
SIMON Cowell has told three of the judges on the X Factor panel to target Christopher Maloney in order to prevent him winning the show.
Cowell believes that if the Liverpool native won it would be such a disaster for the ailing talent show’s credibility that it could spell the end for the series.
It is believed the music mogul finds the singer ‘cheesy’ and ‘dated’ and has instructed judges Louis, Nicole and Tulisa to be highly critical of the act – and to vote him off at the first opportunity.
The claim comes after it was reported that Maloney had topped the vote in the first two live shows of the series.
A source told The Mirror:“Chris winning or even getting further into the competition is a disaster for Cowell. He wants Chris out and the fact that his mentor is Gary Barlow makes him even more desperate to get him kicked off.”
Cowell’s intervention will add to the feud between him and judge Gary Barlow – the two men are not believed to be speaking.
Barlow has previously confirmed he communicates with Cowell through producers – Louis Walsh is believed to be Cowell’s main point of contact with the show.
A spokesperson for Cowell claimed he was too busy with his work on X Factor USA to focus on Barlow’s acts.
