Simon Cowell offers Noel Gallagher €2.5m X Factor deal
SIMON Cowell has reportedly offered Noel Gallagher a €2.5m deal to join the new series of the X Factor, in a move which could spell the end of Gary Barlow’s time on the show.
Cowell had offered Gallagher a deal in 2011 when he left the show, as he viewed him as his natural successor – however the Oasis singer turned him down due to other commitments.
A source told The Sun: “Simon is determined to get Noel on board. He sees him as his natural replacement as the real alpha male on the panel. He thinks Noel would be ideal, with his music knowledge, straight-talking and rapier wit.
"Noel's daughter Anais is a huge fan of One Direction and X Factor, so she'll be nagging him to say yes."
Show boss Cowell and judge Gary Barlow have had an icy relationship in the past, and Cowell has been eager to replace him on the panel.
In one of many shake-ups of the show, producers are believed to only want to re-sign Nicole Scherzinger to the show’s judging panel.
However Cowell is adamant that close friend and right hand man Louis Walsh will return for a tenth series.
It is believed he trusts the Mayo man to be his eyes and ears on the show while he is in the US.
It is widely reported Tulisa has been dropped from the show, and is set to be replaced by former judge Sharon Osbourne, who left he judging duties on America’s Got Talent last year.
