Simon Cowell has confirmed Cheryl Cole is in talks to return to The X Factor.
The 54-year-old dad-to-be will return to the UK judging panel this year after spending three years in the USA.
He has now confirmed that former judge Cheryl Cole could join him.
“To be fair to Cheryl, it hasn’t been about the money with her,” he told BANG Showbiz at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in London.
“It's about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I'm not quite sure [if she will come back] yet.”
“She had her poker face on,” he added.
Simon and Cheryl remained friends after she was axed from the US version of the show in 2011. And he only had good things to say about the former Girls Aloud songstress.
“I thought she looked and sounded the best I've seen her in years,” he said.
Simon will return to the UK following the cancellation of The X Factor USA last week. Simon blamed the low rating on the ‘competitive’ market in the States.
“I don't know why any show would want to be in America right now - anyone - because it's too tough of a market. I mean, there's going to be, this year, something like 14 talent shows on American TV,” he said.
“I've got one of them with America's Got Talent, which, luckily, is just as good as everybody else's. It's become a joke.”
