If you can’t laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?
So goes the age-old idiom. So well-known Irish personalities have proven.
RTE’s Miriam O’Callaghan, singer Chris de Burgh, and Labour minister Joan Burton have all attended Mario Rosenstock’s Gift Grub shows – and they’ve each given the comedian their stamp of approval.
“Joan Burton came to see a show I did in the Bord Gais theatre and she came in in a pair of shades and I noticed her because she was the only person in a theatre wearing shades,” Mario told independent.ie.
“We had a conversation from one part of the theatre to the other.”
Singer Chris De Burgh also met Mario backstage after a Gift Grub show and appeared to be impressed by the comedian’s impressions.
“The piece I did on Chris de Burgh pulled no punches... He came backstage with Rosanna and said he’d seen far worse before.”
Miriam O’Callaghan proudly attended a Gift Grub show and took a bow when Mario pointed her out to the audience.
Mario’s comedy sketches have the masses rolling in the aisles as he takes off the people he most likes to poke fun at. Sketches on Roy Keane, Linda Martin, Louis Walsh and Garth Brooks will all be featured in his coming shows.
