Jonathan Ross has been pitted against his BBC One chat show replacement Graham Norton in the longlist for this year's National Television Awards.

Jonathan, 50, who was the BBC's highest-paid TV star before he quit after 13 years at the corporation, is up for best talk show at the ceremony for The Jonathan Ross Show, which recently made its debut on ITV1.

The Graham Norton Show, which replaced Ross's programme on BBC One on Friday nights, is also up for the award, with others including Alan Carr: Chatty Man (Channel 4) and The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV1).

Simon Cowell's new ITV1 gameshow Red Or Black? has been nominated for best entertainment programme, against the likes of The Cube (ITV1), The Million Pound Drop (Channel 4), Total Wipeout (BBC One) and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (ITV1).

In the reality category, The Only Way Is Essex (ITV2) and Made In Chelsea (E4) appear for the first time, competing against The Apprentice (BBC One), Peter Andre: The Next Chapter (ITV2), I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! (ITV1), Come Dine With Me (Channel 4) and Celebrity Big Brother (Channel 5), among others.

The X Factor (ITV1), Strictly Come Dancing (BBC One), So You Think You Can Dance (BBC One), Popstar To Operastar (ITV1), Dancing On Ice (ITV1) and Britain's Got Talent (ITV1) are among those up for best talent show.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding (Channel 4) is in the running for best factual programme, against the likes of Antiques Roadshow (BBC One), Daybreak (ITV1), BBC Breakfast (BBC One) and The One Show (BBC One).

X Factor host Dermot O'Leary, who is longlisted in the entertainment presenter category, hosts the awards, to be broadcast on ITV1, at London's O2 Arena in January.
