Murray 'delighted to be back'
PRESENTER John Murray has said he's delighted to be back on air, and that he was overwhelmed by the public's reaction after he spoke openly about his battle with depression.
"It's great," he said. "A few days before I came back, I was thinking, 'oh God, I've to do it again after being out for so long', but it's been fantastic."
Murray was speaking yesterday at the unveiling of the 20 candidates who are hoping to be leaders on the RTE show 'Operation Transformation'.
John took leave from the airwaves in mid-April, and returned earlier this month.
In his first show back, he spoke movingly about the reason for his absence, a battle with depression.
He joked that he "better stay back", after he was inundated with messages of support. "There were lovely letters and cards from people that appreciated I'm back."
He said the messages "helped me through the tougher times".
