SHE shot to fame as the wife of Dublin gangster Nidge in the gritty RTE crime series 'Love/Hate'.

But actress Aoibhinn McGinnity (27) showed she could also be a good sport and put her "criminal" past behind her.

The Monaghan star teamed up with friends for a spot of hurling in the unlikely setting of St Stephen's Green in Dublin.

Helping Aoibhinn with the finer points of the game were former Dublin hurler Keith Horgan.

The "game" was part of a scene for a new German TV series, 'My Whole Life', filming of which is currently taking place in Dublin.

It is one of two original dramas, based on original ideas from best-selling author Cecelia Ahern, that are being shot in Dublin and Munich over the summer.

In addition to two TV dramas, a feature film of Cecilia's book 'Love, Rosie' is also being shot at locations around the capital. Cecelia is also making a cameo appearance in the movie.
