Irish Glee star Damian and 1D's Niall Horan pay tribute to tragic Cory

IRISH actor Damian McGinty, who starred in hit series Glee alongside the late Cory Monteith, and One Direction's Niall Horan have paid tribute to the late actor.

Damian McGinty (21) starred in the series in 2011 as Irish exchange student Rory Flanagan.

"The guy I shot my first acting scene with. The nicest guy I've met. Can't believe it," the Derry native wrote on his Twitter account earlier today.

One Direction star Niall Horan said his thoughts and prayers were with Cory's family.

"Met him on a couple of occasions. Super nice guy. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends," the Mullingar teenager said on his Twitter account.

The two men joined a host of Hollywood stars who have paid tribute to tragic Cory (31) who was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver this morning.

Kim Kardashian tweeted that: ‘Words can’t describe what they must be feeling,’. The new mum also wrote that she was sending prayers to Monteith’s family and his girlfriend, Lea Michele.

His Glee co-star Mark Salling tweeted the word ‘No’.

The star, who played Finn Hudson in the top rated TV show was found by staff in the Fairmount Pacific Rim Hotel. 

Zooey Deschanel wrote: “This is such sad news about Cory Monteith - what an absolutely tragic loss of a very talented young man.”

Chloe Grace Moretz tweeted: “I just heard about Cory Monteith.. Rest in peace, everyone close to him and affected by this loss you're in my prayers.”

Marlee Matlin wrote: “My thoughts & prayers are with family and friends as well as cast of Glee on passing of Cory Monteith. A young talent gone too soon.”

Actress Rumer Willis tweeted: “I am truly saddened to hear about Cory Monteith. What a talented and sweet guy. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.”

Mia Farrow paid her own tribute – “Rest in peace Cory Monteith. Sad, very very sad.”

Businessman Richard Branson RIP Cory Monteith - a lovely human being who moved mountains to make the world a better place.”
