CHECKOUT worker Mary Byrne has vowed not to make a "hames of it" after she secured a place in the live finals of the TV talent show.
Millions of viewers from Ireland and Britain learned last night that Ms Byrne, from Ballyfermot in Dublin, will be joined by Rebecca Creighton (21) from Tallaght and Niall Horan (17) from Mullingar, Co Westmeath, in the finals next weekend.
They will be among 12 finalists moving into a house together this week ahead of the live final.
Both Creighton and Horan as auditioned as solo performers but were merged into two new groups.
However, most interest will be on the Ballyfermot mother of one whose audition in Dublin last June has become of the most memorable moments of this season's show.
"I'll feel like a superstar, like I've made it," she said last night, anticipating her appearance in the final.
"I'm in the world I want to be in," she added.
On Saturday night's show she was seen being comforted by presenter Dermot O'Leary after she forget her lines.
However she did manage to make it through to the live final which she described as having been her "dream".
She said she had already been introduced to the other Irish finalists.
"Rebecca and Niall are really, nice kids. I'm happy for them too," she said.
