I never thought I'd jump out of a plane with my mum (70), says Baz Ashmawy ahead of new Sky show
RTE'S Baz Ashmawy knew his 70-year-old mum had an adventurous side when she challenged him to a skydive -- but he had no idea just how far she'd go on their new TV show.
The presenter has unveiled details of his new show for Sky One -- which includes swimming with sharks and wrestling crocodiles -- after jumping ship from RTE.
Baz's 2fm radio show with Lucy Kennedy was dropped in June 2012 and he has just wrapped a six-part series for the British broadcaster.
And in keeping with his madcap antics, this one has a curious title -- 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy -- and will air this summer. But far from planning actual matricide, it seems Baz has invited his 70-year-old mum Nancy to experience his adrenalin-pumping bucket list.
The half-Egyptian broadcaster (38) said: "I'm lucky enough in my life to have seen and done of the most amazing things you could do and everything I've done, I've shared with my mammy. Now at the age of 70, she wants a taste."
Baz has joined forces with his brave mum Nancy as he coerces her into engaging in a number of daredevil activities.
These include wrestling crocodiles, snake-charming, flying a plane, swimming with sharks and going high-speed driving.
With no challenge too big, Baz and his mum travel to the US, Asia and Africa as he looks for crazy ways to frighten the life out of her.
Speaking about his thrill-seeking mum, Baz said she was "at a stage in her life where she yearns for a bit of adventure".
