'I never thought anyone would say yes to me!' - No Monday blues for KC as Today FM DJ announces engagement
Radio DJ KC certainly doesn’t have the Monday blues this morning – the Today FM lunchtime show host returned from his Christmas break with news of his engagement.
“I’m delighted,” DJ Keith Cunningham told independent.ie
“I never thought somebody would say ‘yes’ to me,” he joked.
The Mayo man proposed to his partner Rachel on Christmas morning at their home in Cork.
“I asked Robin who’s three to give Rachel the ring on Christmas morning but she ended up just throwing it at her,” he laughed.
“We have no immediate plans, we’re just looking around for now,” he said.
“I would love to get married in either Cork or Kerry. We’re living in Cork now and some of the most beautiful places in the world are around here.
Today FM announced the news on Twitter this afternoon, writing, “Yayyyyyyyyyyy! @kctodayfm got engaged! Congratulations.”
Speaking about his news later on the show, Mayo man KC joked; “I had this issue, not sure if I was ready to be engaged and that miserable yet, but now it’s fine.
“It’s just a little statement of commitment,” he laughed.
A Phantom FM and fellow Marconi House colleague Kieran Frost replied to the tweet, joking; “That’s why he was smiling on the way out of the life earlier. Congrats!”
The 34-year-old DJ took over the Today FM lunchtime slot following Ray Foley’s departure to Dublin station 98fm in late 2012.
