Host of Channel 4's Embarrassing Bodies admits "voyeurism is definitely part of the show's success"
Love it or hate it, there's no denying Embarrassing Bodies is compulsive viewing.
And according to host Dr Christian Jessen our desire to find out about other people darkest secrets is the key to it's success.
"I think voyeurism is definitely part of the shows success," Dr Christian said.
"We're all nosey and love knowing what's going on in people's lives. We love hearing what's wrong with people."
"But there is also a feel good factor. Most health shows are competitive - there's a winner or a loser - there is none of that on Embarassing Bodies. We're helping people."
"We brought Embarrassing Bodies to Ireland once and I think that while Irish people love to talk there is stills sense of Catholic guilt when it comes to chatting about their bodies," he told the Irish Independent.
Dr Christian was talking at the launch of men's sexual health website www.takecontrol.ie which aims at reducing the taboo surrounding premature ejaculation.
"Talking about PE is key," he said.
