Frank Gallagher to realise his dreams on final 'Shameless' episode

Anthony Barnes

Shameless main man Frank Gallagher will bow out after his dreams come true - by kicking a ball on the pitch of his beloved Manchester City.

Makers of the Channel 4 show were today filming scenes for the final episode on the turf at the City Of Manchester Stadium where Frank (played by David Threlfall) will be seen scoring a goal.

Both the character and Threlfall are committed fans of the club.

Layabout Frank will be seen at the ground as he visits various locations during one of his frequent rants to no one in particular.

Programme makers are putting the finishing touches to the finale of the series which will return to screens for the last time in spring.

Original cast members such as Ann-Marie Duff will return for the climax of the 11th series. Take That star Jason Orange will also make a cameo appearance during one of the episodes, playing a DJ called Scouse Mouse who sets up a festival on the Chatsworth estate.

"It is a life changing moment for Frank Gallagher and David Threlfall," a spokeswoman for the show said of the visit to the football ground.
