Film Highlights Sunday
This dark psychological thriller from Clint Eastwood is based on real events and stars Angelina Jolie as Christine Collins, a hard-working single mother who comes home one day to find that her nine-year-old son Walter has vanished.
The notoriously corrupt Los Angeles Police Department are initially unhelpful, but four months later they ring Christine with good news. They tell her they've found Walter travelling with a drifter in Illinois, but when Christine turns up at the train station for the reunion, she realises the boy in question is not her son.
The LAPD have turned the event into a photo op, and bully her into taking the child home. But Christine begins a battle to prove the boy is not her son that will put her through hell. With John Malkovich and Jeffrey Donovan.
On the Waterfront (1954)
In Elia Kazan's magnificent urban drama, Marlon Brando delivers one of the greatest screen performances as Terry, a not very bright ex-boxer who becomes disgusted with the waterfront racket he's involved in after he meets a wholesome young woman. With Eva Marie Saint and Karl Malden.
Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Leonardo DiCaprio stars in Steven Spielberg's film about Frank Abagnale Jr, a troubled 18-year-old who swindled millions of dollars in the mid-1960s by posing as an airline pilot, a doctor and an attorney. Tom Hanks plays the dogged FBI man who tracks him.

A group of idiots who've driven to Vegas for a stag night wake up to find their five-star hotel suite trashed, a tiger in the bathroom and the groom mysteriously missing in Todd Phillips' enjoyable hit comedy. Andrei Zvyagintsev's salty psychological drama is a searing indictment of post-Communist Russian society, and stars Nadezhda Markina as Elena, a working class woman who's married to a older man who tolerates her but refuses to help her poor and criminally lazy son. With Andrey Smirnov, Elena Lyadova and Aleksey Rozin.
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Emotional drama starring Matt Damon as Will, a south Boston foster kid with a serious attitude problem and a rare gift for mathematics. When his genius is discovered by a Harvard professor, he is sent to a shrink (Robin Williams), who is given the task of breaking down Will's defensiveness.
