Quantum of Solace (2008)

At the end of Casino Royale Daniel Craig's (above) Bond had cornered a master criminal called Mr White, and at the start of this stylish, but somewhat convoluted, adventure, he takes him in for questioning.

White reveals that he is part of a sinister, all-pervasive organisation called Quantum -- so pervasive in fact that before they can discover any more, a supposedly trusted MI6 agent shoots at M and facilitates White's escape. Bond chases the turncoat agent and kills him, but of White there is no trace.

An investigation of the MI6 traitor's background reveals a bank account in Haiti, and when Bond follows he finds more trouble, in the shape of a sinister French villain called Greene. Judi Dench, Mathieu Amalric, Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko co-star..

The Young Victoria (2009)

Emily Blunt plays a somewhat idealised Victoria in this handsome period drama set in the 1830s and following the intrigue that surrounded her at court when she acceded to the throne at only 18. Rupert Friend plays her dashing suitor Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)

In this giddy but likeable animated sequel, Jack Black again provides the voice of Po, an overweight panda who became an unlikely hero in the first film, and in this one sets out to stop the evil Lord Shen from unleashing a dreadful new weapon.

The Italian Job (1969)

Michael Caine and Noel Coward star in this classic British crime caper about a group of London criminals who plan an ambitious gold bullion robbery in Rome that involves a fleet of Mini Coopers, and culminates in a spectacular chase sequence across a narrow mountain pass. With Robert Powell.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008))

While attempting to fly a plane back home to New York, the lost zoo animals crash land on the plains of Africa and have a hard time fending for themselves in their supposed natural habitat. With the voices of Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, Chris Rock, Sacha Baron Cohen and Cedric the Entertainer.

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)

E4, 9.00pm

In this thoroughly ridiculous but sometimes hilarious comedy directed by Steve Pink, John Cusack, Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson play three middle-aged Californian friends who are plunged back in time to the 1980s when they take a dip in a ski resort hot tub. Crispin Glover co-stars.
