The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
HHH
Sky Movies Action, 10.00pm
The third and final part of Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed superhero saga takes up Batman's story eight years after the death of Harvey Dent.
The caped crusader was exiled from Gotham City after being wrongly blamed for the Dent killing, but when a masked lunatic called Bane arrives in town with a masterplan involving an atomic bomb, the city elders are quick to reconsider.
Christian Bale (above) reprises his most famous role, Tom Hardy plays the baddie, and Marion Cotillard and Anne Hathaway are competing love interests for Bruce Wayne.
The whole thing is perfectly watchable as you'd expect, but a good 40 minutes too long and not quite up to the high standards of its predecessor, especially in the visual stakes.
Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt co-star.
