A number of concerned fans online have questioned actress Patsy Kensit’s behaviour as she stuttered and slurred her words on ITV chat show This Morning.

The 45-year-old appeared on the chat show yesterday morning to promote her new autobiography, in which she describes her childhood as “like something straight out of The Sopranos”.

Kensit, who has recently spoken out about her marriage to Oasis front-man Liam Gallagher, slurred her speech and failed to complete her anecdotes as she spoke to hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the show.

Fans took to social media network Twitter to share their thoughts on her behaviour, but many explained her distorted speech could be a result of the medicine she is taking to combat the symptoms of an early menopause.

“I had to have a hysterectomy two months ago. I was getting these huge cysts I had one removed in 2011 and within nine months two huge cysts had come back,” Patsy explained to the This Morning pair when Phillip asked how she was.

“Now I'm going through full blown menopause,” Kensit continued.

“My mouth is dry, I have the sweats.

“No one talks about it. It's somehow taboo like you're not a woman any more. Do you lose your lust for life because you've lost your womb?

“I’m feeling okay,” she added, “but it is an adjustment.”

Talking about her two former marriages, to Jim Kerr and Liam Gallagher, Kensit said she’s a “hopeless romantic”.

“It’s [my book] is an honest thing,” she said.

“We were young and I believe in love and I’m a hopeless romantic and that’s  nothing to be ashamed of.

“I have learnt so much from Jim and from Liam and I was looking for them to replace my mother's love and no man can do that.”
