Dishy Donal relishing his hot streak
He's dubbed Ireland's answer to Jamie Oliver and there seems to be no stopping the cherubic TV chef sensation Donal Skehan.
This week when we met up, Donal was celebrating on the double . . . and no, there was no sight of his gelled-up TV caricature (played by Mario Rosenstock) in sight. First reason to celebrate was the launch of his first food product -- the Skoff pies that he is producing in partnership with his parents, Dermot and Liz, who run Fresh Cut Foods.
And today, Donal's Feast, a quarterly dinner journal, goes on sale and you can ogle the eye-candy for the stomach and soul, which Donal has prepared and photographed.
Having just returned from Finland, where he recorded his Kitchen Hero: Homecooked - Christmas Special (RTÉ One, December 22), Donal was joined last Saturday by friends and family to roll out the savoury pastry pies at the Honest2Goodness market in Glasnevin and he's back there again today, so expect lots of his female fans to be in attendance.
