Comic strip Tommy and Hector get exposure for show
It's Tommy and Hector as you've never seen them before. Messrs Tiernan and O hEoch-again are getting down to the bare essentials as they promote their afternoon show on iRadio.
The station, which has been making waves in the west and northwest of the country since its launch last February, went live in the northeast yesterday.
And to be sure the punters get the message, the pair have stripped down to their briefs and struck a chilled-out pose on a leather chaise longue.
The striking image is now appearing on billboards across almost half of the country.
But up to lunchtime yesterday, iRadio said it had only received a single complaint about the pose.
The pair are friends from their schooldays in Co Meath and on the station's website Hector says: "It's been a while since I togged out beside the fella for PE class. We're now about to tog out on the airwaves. Let the games begin."
Tommy says: "I've always wanted to have loads of craic on the radio. What better way to have a mountain of devilment than to do a show with my best friend."
Station CEO, Dan Healy, who ran 98FM in Dublin and was also at the helm of Newstalk Radio for a couple of years, said: "We've invested hundreds of thousands in this campaign to show our listeners in the West and east that we can provide quality entertainment across half the country from today."
i102-104 broadcasts across Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Leitrim, Longford and Donegal. i105-107 went live yesterday and broadcasts to Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Monaghan, Offaly, Cavan, Kildare and Laois.
