Claire Byrne set to present new current affairs show on Radio 1 in RTE reshuffle
BROADCASTER Claire Byrne is to present a new topical current affairs programme on RTE Radio 1 in a reshuffle of some of the station's leading current affairs shows.
'Saturday with Claire Byrne', the new hour long programme, will begin on September 29 at 1pm.
Ms Byrne said: "I'm delighted to be part of the Radio 1 schedule again.
"Our aim with the new programme is to question agendas, dissect the week gone by, and debate the likely issues of the week to come.
"We want to hear from the newsmakers and those whose lives are impacted by policy makers in Ireland."
Meanwhile, RTE Radio 1's late evening politics and current affairs programme, 'Late Debate', which was presented by Claire Byrne last season, will returns to the airwaves tomorrow and air Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-11pm with broadcast journalist Audrey Carville at the helm.
"The next few months will be critical as the country prepares for a tough budget. 'Late Debate' will provide vital analysis at this crucial time," said Ms Carville.
