Boyzone star Keith Duffy has not given up jope on a call back for Love/Hate following his debut last season.

The singer turned actor was tipped to continue his role as dodgy gym owner Mark in the smash hit crime drama.

However, he has yet to hear any word from show creator Stuart Carolan months into filming on the fifth season on the award-winning drama.

Keith’s wife Lisa told The Herald that the actor has yet to be called up by show producers, but she is not surprised given the top secret nature of the crime programme.

The dad-of-two is currently treading the boards in London after landing his first theatre role across the water with the play, ‘A Handful of Stars’.

“I don’t think he has heard anything from Love/Hate yet,” wife Lisa admitted.

“I’m not even sure when Love/Hate wraps up filming, but Stuart never tells you anything anyway.

“When Keith filmed the last one I think he found out four days beforehand so that’s the way it works.”

Lisa was bursting with pride at the weekend after she jetted out to see her partner of more than 20 years on stage in the UK for the first time.

The former ‘Coronation Street’ star was delighted to land a part in the revival of Billy Roche’s play, running at Theatre 503 in Battersea until May 24.

‘A Handful of Stars’ is set in Wexford and the Dublin actor plays the role of a boxer.

“The play has got great reviews and Keith is really enjoying it,” explained Lisa, who flew out to join him for the opening night in London at the weekend.

“It is a bit daunting for him because he has never done theatre over there before.

“Our son Jay was over for a few days and after he saw the show, he sent me a text to say that he was so proud of his dad.”
