Being 'a goer' runs in family, claims Kendall

Felicity Kendal has said that being "a goer" is in her genes after she learnt her great-grandmother was thrown into a workhouse for becoming pregnant during an adulterous liaison.

The actress (66), who played Barbara in 'The Good Life', said she had "been around the block" and had affairs, and suggested that if she had lived in the late 19th century she "would have been in the same boat".

Ms Kendal discovered her family's dark secret while researching 'Secrets From The Workhouse', which is on ITV tomorrow at 9pm.
