ACTRESS Amy Huberman will be among the stars taking to the red carpet at the Convention Centre in Dublin tonight for the annual Irish Film and Television Awards.
The best-selling author, star of RTE's 'The Clinic' and wife of Irish rugby captain Brian O'Driscoll is up for a Best Actress gong for her role as a troubled recovering drug addict in the Irish-made thriller "Rewind".
The film, co-starring Allen Leech, will be released in cinemas here on March 25. It is up for three IFTA awards, including Best Director (PJ Dillon) and Best Sound.
Huberman, who is better known for her sunny characters, said she is delighted to be nominated.
"It was a fantastic opportunity to play a different type of role and in particular such a gritty character. It's wonderful to see the film get recognition at the IFTAs, and a nationwide release when it opens next month."
She also praised working with PJ Dillon on his directorial debut.
"I have my fingers crossed for PJ who did such an amazing job. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the other nominees at the ceremony tomorrow night."
