TV chef Clodagh reveals her heart of gold
The ladies who lunch gathered at the Shelbourne Hotel yesterday for the eighth NBCRI lunch.
The Taoiseach's wife, Fionnuala, was invited to attend by Liam and Anna Ó Coinne from Galway, and beauty writer Triona McCarthy - who has worked tirelessly for the charity since the death of her sister Tricia - brought along her mum Margaret who was on the receiving end of lots of good wishes for her birthday.
Norah Casey supported as did Senator Imelda Henry, Carol Mallon, Dorothy MacCann from the Merrion Hotel, Jacky Byrne, Allison Brown of the RJI and the whole day was spearheaded by the gorgeous Jean Ann Taylor, former boss at House of Fraser, who is chair of the Dublin fundraising committee of the NBCRI.
Jane Baker from Fran & Jane in Blackrock, Co Dublin, put up a voucher as a prize for the 'touch of pink' style competition. Later in Grafton Street, I spotted Clodagh McKenna, left, and immediately scooted over to find out the bona fides of that amazing gold dress she wore to the Irish Tatler Women of the Year Awards the previous Saturday.
"It was a Tadashi Shoji," explained Clodagh who blushed at the compliment and then dashed off because she is one busy woman.
"I'm in the process of putting the finishing touches to my annual Christmas Wish Dinner which is taking place in my restaurant in Blackrock next Thursday evening.
"It is in aid of Make-A-Wish and the raffle prizes of winter escapes always put a smile on everyone's face. It's going to be an evening of food, wine, laughter and wishes."
Sounds good to me.
