The internet is a strange place, and Nicolas Cage often receives the brunt end of it.

Nicolas Cage has become a meme in his own right, often being photoshopped onto popular pictures of stories unrelated to the actor and posted to websites like Reddit and Imgur.

The latest parody to involve the actor is a photoshopped parody of Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball', in which someone has altered the video to show Cage's face instead of Miley's one.

The video, which has been dubbed by American pop-culture website Buzzfeed as "terrifying" is definitely unsettling.

Other famous memes include 'Nicolas Cage as Everyone', 'Nicolas Cage wants Cake' and the 'You Don't Say' graphic, which is based on a scene from 1988's "Vampire Kiss" and is used as a sarcastic response to statements made online.

Cage has not spoken out about his treatment on the internet.
