A teenage fan of Ed Sheeran fulfilled her dying wish, after a video recorded from her hospital bed was viewed thousands of times.
Emmie Jade Bennett Price (14) died of bone cancer in July but a video of her miming one of Ed Sheeran’s song ‘Drunk’ was posted by her mother after her death.
“This is typical Emmie, always upbeat and entertaining even when she was so ill,” her mother Katie said.
“She always wanted a Youtube channel.”
The teenager was diagnosed with bone cancer last year after fracturing her shoulder at school. After several rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she sadly died.
The teenager from Worksop, Notts in the UK was keen to raise funds for her Bluebell Hospice in Sheffield where she spent her final days.
Ed's has been an inspiration to many of his fans going through difficult and life-threatening illnesses.
The singer comforted Irish teenager Triona Priestly in the moments before she passed away earlier this year. Triona, who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, listened to Ed sing a song over the phone from her hospital bed.
Triona's family later said the call was a huge source of comfort to the teenager.
"It was an amazing moment - it was like something out of a Hollywood script. Ed Sheeran sang the whole song and as Triona took her last breaths, he finished the song," Triona's mom said.
"I looked down and said 'I think she's asleep'. The consultant clipped off the mask from her face and she had a little smile on her face."
