An air steward decided to spring a surprise on a passenger, who he knew to be single, and set her up with another passenger.

Bianca Saldanha was flying to Queenstown on New Zealand’s south island for a girls' weekend when she realised she was seated apart from her friends.

"Bianca is a beautiful and successful lawyer living in Auckland. If anyone is single and interested she is wearing pink and sitting in 5C," he told passengers.

He then gave Saldanha an apron and invited her to hand out sweets to passengers, so she could check out any potential suitors.

"It was the most fun flight I've ever been on and Air New Zealand was absolutely fantastic,” Saldanha told news website
