Shocking footage of reckless driving at modified car rally goes viral

Shocking footage from a modified car rally in Dublin shows a reckless driver deliberately aiming for street lights.

In a video that has gone viral since it was posted on Adrian Kennedy and Jeremy Dixon’s Facebook page, a joyrider backs into a street light, almost driving upwards, before knocking the pole.

It is understood the rally took place at Ballymount Industrial Estate this week, and witnesses feared for their lives.

Concerns are growing over the dangerous nature of these events.

The video shows the driver aiming for a street lamps at high speed, almost knocking them over, next to a public road.

Gardaí have clamped down on modified car rallies this year.

Last month, eight people were arrested in the Clare area when Gardaí became aware of planned and organised events involving the drivers of modified cars.
