'Ryanair taught us what not to do' - Aer Lingus on Social Media Award win
Full list of winners from the Social Media Awards below
The Social Media Awards were held in the RDS in Dublin last night, and companies and individuals from across the country scooped a number of coveted 'Sockie' statuettes.
Irish clothing company Hairy Baby scooped the award for best Use of Facebook by a Small Business (in-house team managed).
In his acceptance speech, founder and director Daragh Murphy said that the award "meant so much" to the company, especially when it came to brand protection for a small business. "We had a very public spat with a major retailer, and while financially we couldn't take it any further, we took them to task on social media".
Dublin Zoo and LovelyBeards.com were the big winners of the night, with Dublin Zoo scooping three Sockies including the 'Grand Prix' award.
Independent.ie was nominated for our Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat but those awards went to BreakingNews.ie, LovelyBeards.com and Republic of Telly respectively. Congratulations to the winners and all the winners on the night!
The awards were sponsored by Maximum Media, the home of the Joe.ie and Her.ie family.
