Pope Francis was more than a little amused when he came face to face with a baby sporting a mini-papal outfit complete with a customised white hat.

Baby Quinn Madden caught the Pontiff's eye as he made his way around the streets of Philadelphia.

The pope is currently on a tour of America, and has visited New York City, Washington DC and Philadelphia.

This morning he left to return to the Vatican.

He has been pictured meeting with President Obama, has been papped shaking hands with homeless people and even encountered Mr Donald Trump on his travels.

But many say his genuine and spontaneous reaction to his 'mini-me', Quinn,  was the highlight of his tour thus far.

Meanwhile hundreds of cute dogs have been decked out in papal outfits in honour of the Head of the Roman Catholic Church's visit.

Clad in various iconic fashion trends the canines pull off the papal look with aplomb.

The hashtag #PopeDog went viral worldwide, with a whole army of pooches dressing up in a bid to impress the 78-year-old Pope
