'Northampton Clown Catcher' vows to catch creepy clown terrorising town
Following the news of a "creepy clown" staring at residents of a small Northampton town, a Facebook page has been set up called the "Northhampton Clown Catcher"
The Facebook page, which already has over 3,000 likes in 48 hours, features pictures of a man dressed in a superhero outfit, "searching" the area.
The Facebook page has called for the clown to "join forces" to "save Northampton from all fear and danger".
The page also requests that users take a photo if they see the "clown catcher" around the area.
The page is in response to a page set up by the clown, entitled "Spot the Northampton Clown".
The clown, who bears a striking resemblance to murderous clown Pennywise from the Stephen King-inspired 1990 horror film, IT, first appeared on Friday 13th in the area and has been scaring residents.
According to the Northampton Herald and Post the red haired, white faced clown has appeared in several locations in the Abington and Kingsley areas of the town.
He is also sometimes seen carrying a clown teddy.
The newspaper also reports that the clown knocked on someone's door and offered to paint their window sills despite having no painting equipment.
The newspaper reported: "He doesn't juggle. He doesn't twist balloons into animal shapes. He just stares."
He has also been forced to deny via his Facebook page that he had been carrying a knife after false rumours spread on social networks.
