A woman's passionate comments regarding the ever-increasing pressure on couples to have children have gone viral.

Emily Bingham's fiery message has resonated with thousands of people, and her Facebook post has been shared thousands of times.

She has received widespread backing for her sentiments that other people's reproductive and pro-creative plans are their business and should not be questioned.

'You don’t know who is on the fence about having kids or having more kids.'

The thirty-something explained that her rant was partly prompted by a friend who had been struggling through a year of fertility treatment and eventually conceived a son - only to be asked when 'baby No. 2' would be arriving, weeks after she gave birth.

She also explained that she understands the frustration as a result of such as a result of her own experience.

Emily, who hails from Michigan in the US, uploaded a random ultrasound image alongside her post in order to spark interest.

"Before you ask the young married couple that has been together for seemingly forever when they are finally gonna start a family...

"Before you ask the parents of an only-child toddler when a Little Brother or Little Sister will be in the works...

"Before you ask a single 30-something if/when s/he plans on having children because, you know, clock's ticking ... just stop.

"You don't know who is struggling with infertility or grieving a miscarriage or dealing with health issues," she said.

"People asking me about my child bearing plans drives me up a tree.

"Be they my parents or perfect strangers, because that happens all too often.

"Thank you for posting this, I’m so drained right now from fighting these questions off," one woman commented.
