The Mirror's April Fool's Day story that Geordie Shore star Vicki Pattinson is to join the newest series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been picked up in America.

Celeb gossip site Sugarscape reported the story, citing the Mirror as the source.

Unfortunately for them, while at the time of publication it may still have been March 31st in America, it was April 1st in London.

The story claims that Pattinson and Kardashian met at the Brits and "got talking about fitness".

The fake quotes read:

"Our managers know each other so they introduced us".

"I was telling her about my workout DVD and nutritional products and Kim was well excited about it. She asked me there and then if I'd be up for going over to LA and training her myself".

"I was ecstatic like. I'm a massive fan of the Kardashians and it's an opportunity I couldn't let pass by".

Pattinson, who has launched a fitness DVD and a range of nutritional fitness supplements, was reported to have been hired as Kim's new Kim's personal nutrition expert and trainer after Kanye "blasted" her former trainer for "failing to help her lose 15 pounds".

Sugarscape described the story as an "incredibly bizarre turn of crossover tellybox events" and added, "we can't get our heads around it".

While they could, of course, be prolonging the joke - somehow, we don't think so.

Don't be too hard on yourself Sugarscape - it happens to the best of us!
