Blizzards front man Niall Breslin did not hold back yesterday when he aired his disgust about yesterday's controversial unanimous decision that saw Michael Conlan lose his bantamweight quarter-final bout.

The former judge of RTE's The Voice tweeted his disgust at the judges' decision at the Rio Olympics, and received a virtual round of applause.

"Forgetting my bias for Conlan I am just sick of the rampant corruption in sport. Athletes put life on line and greed destroys it," he said.

"Looking back at body language of judges that decison was as obvious as fart in mass from round 1 and stinks like it too," he added.

His tweets were retweeted and "liked" hundreds of times by Conlan's fans.

Yesterday has been described as one of Irish boxing's darkest days.

But like a true sportsman, Conlan is somehow trying to put the disappointment of unjustly losing to Russian Vladimir Nikitin in the Olympic quarter-finals behind him.

The world champion put on a brave face as he told his Twitter followers that "the only thing we have that matters is family" as he looks to park the crushing despair of his controversial Olympic exit.
